How to add a DMARC record in Cloudflare

DMARC is published as a TXT record at _dmarc under your domain. This page covers adding it in Cloudflare's DNS editor. Start in monitoring mode (p=none) so nothing is blocked while you collect reports.

Steps

  1. In the Cloudflare dashboard, open the DNS Records page for your domain and select Add record.
  2. Choose TXT as the type.
  3. Set Name to _dmarc.
  4. Paste this into Content:
    v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@example.com
    Replace the rua address with a mailbox you read.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Save, wait for DNS to update, then re-run the checker to confirm the record is found. Publish only one DMARC record per domain.

DMARC only passes when SPF or DKIM also passes and aligns with your From domain, so set those up too.
