How to add a DMARC record in GoDaddy

DMARC is published as a TXT record at _dmarc under your domain. This page covers adding it in GoDaddy's DNS editor. Start in monitoring mode (p=none) so nothing is blocked while you collect reports.

Steps

  1. Sign in to GoDaddy, open your domain's settings and select DNS to see your DNS records.
  2. Select Add New Record and choose TXT as the type.
  3. Set Name to _dmarc (GoDaddy asks for the prefix without your domain name).
  4. Paste the value:
    v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@example.com
    Replace the rua address with a mailbox you read.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Save, wait for DNS to update, then re-run the checker to confirm the record is found. Publish only one DMARC record per domain.

DMARC only passes when SPF or DKIM also passes and aligns with your From domain, so set those up too.
